I recently started another website to give kudo’s to some of my favorite costume designers. Costume design is what inspired me to begin sewing as a tween and is what still inspires me. I had bought the domain name a couple of years ago, but hadn’t found the time to do anything with it til now. It’s Gowns Designed By.com

On it, I showcase some of my favorite old movies and their costume designers. The last movie I talked about was “Lover Come Back”, with Doris Day and Rock Hudson. I received a comment from the former personal assistant to Doris Day. My favorite designer has always been Irene Lentz. She and Doris Day were real-life friends and it was Ms. Day who last spoke with Irene before Irene’s death. So it was an extra special treat for me to read her comment and make a connection with another fan.
