Look Slo – a Corner Tub for Two!

When we moved into our home over 4 years ago, the walkout basement was stubbed for a bathroom. That was one of the reasons that we bought this house. With others to care for down the road, we thought it would be nice to have a little apartment down there. There was room for a kitchen, living room and full bath with one side of the bath having a complete wall next to a window to the meadow view that would accommodate a window seat really nicely.

After moving in, we discovered the drain lines, which are set into a concrete slab, are not at the distances from the wall that they should be. We built out one wall and installed a toilet and utility sink that currently services our classroom / craft area. The other wall is to hold a shower, but the shower drainpipe is only 8″ from the wall. That won’t work. It’s supposed to be at least 18″. When we confronted the builder about it he stubbornly refuses to change it, stating that’s the standard. Yeah right, b-u-d-d-y! Anyway, we had the idea of just making the whole bathroom handicap accessible with a wheel-in shower. In other words, the whole room would basically be a walk in shower with a low-rise toilet and sink bowl.

One of the options we thought about was building a wall to enclose a small shower, making it a rather small shower. I saw a site tonight in the UK that makes a very modern looking whirlpool corner Tub for Two with a built-in radio. Is that not awesome? There is no denying that the Modern Taps are really music to your ears!
