Where’s The Sandlot?
Jul 9th, 2007 | By Gidget | Category: Coffee KlatchSlobo and I were trying to figure out what we could do with the kids for the summer that wouldn’t be too hot and still be alot of fun and inexpensive. With three boys, it can’t be that hard right? Our usual summer past-time is playing in water in any form and hiking anywhere North! With the draught related water restrictions all over our state, it’s been hard to come up with at-home water fun. Last month, the kids were excited about washing the dog because it gave them an extra chance to play in water. The dogs didn’t get too clean tho. We were able to go hiking last week, but we can’t do that every weekend.
Another fun summertime event used to be Baseball. The last time anyone went to a game, our oldest was 3. I’ll never forget that day, My brother, his wife, my dad, Slobo and our oldest son went to see the Braves. My youngest and I waved goodbye as they pulled out of the driveway. He didn’t understand why he couldn’t go and was just teary eyed! We were able to afford Slobo and J1 to go because the Braves were doing so poorly. Tickets were dirt cheap. Just like the cubs tickets now!
I should also say – although I haven’t followed the Braves for a couple of years, I checked on their tickets and they can be had for only $5 bucks now. I guess that means they are having a worse season than the cubs???
