1st Sock, 5 days and counting p2,k2

After making “elephant – sized” socks from crochet patterns gone awry, I decided to give knitting this pair a try. Being a southpaw, it’s not exactly like the pattern (in so many ways), but God Bless the lady that put up that website and others with videos to pause, at least it’s close.

I love my one sock, flaws and all! I think I’ll wear it as I go for a pair.

This is made from Bellezza Collection Tesoro Yarn from JoAnne’s. It’s a wool from Italy. Very soft! It took one skein (87 yards more or less). Used size 8 dpn’s and 16″ circular. For any newbies out there who are doubling the number of loops from their cast ons, remember, when you knit and purl to flip the yarn from front to back in the valley between the needles, then wind your loop around the working needle from underneath. That parts really important. Extremely helpful advice I discovered after 8 cast ons and lots of websites. lol. Now if I could just figure out why my heel gussets have ridges whilst the pattern pics don’t. This is fun, but now I know why knitters like to use the ‘good stuff’. All this work wouldn’t be as worth it otherwise!
